Mears Group, Inc. welcomes Craig Chaney as Chief Engineer

Mears Group, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Craig Chaney as Chief Engineer – Integrity Solutions supporting specialized assessment projects for the gas, oil, and nuclear industries. He will be working from the San Ramon, California office location.
Craig has 34 years of experience in the energy industry. He started his career as a metallurgical engineer for PG&E at their Department of Engineering Research. While at PG&E he worked in a variety of technical and leadership positions in engineering, power generation, and gas transmission. In 2002 he became an Associate at Structural Integrity Associates where he founded the Pipeline Services division of the company. He developed and grew that division to provide pipeline consulting and assessment services for the oil and gas, fossil, nuclear, and hydro industries. He was a principle developer of ECDA, ICDA and Integrity Management programs widely used in the gas transmission industry today. He conducted many buried piping life cycle management programs for a number of nuclear power plants. He is probably best known for his technical innovation, process expertise and entrepreneurial spirit.
He has a bachelor of science in metallurgical engineering from California Polytechnic University and a MBA from Saint Mary’s College.
