Mears Group, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Kurt Lawson as a Senior Director – Integrity Solutions. Kurt will be working from the Plain City, Ohio office location.
Kurt has over 25 years of experience in the field of corrosion and materials engineering. Prior to joining Mears, Kurt was the Director of Facility and Pipeline Services for DNV Columbus. From 1985 through 2005, Kurt worked for CC Technologies, Inc. and served as VP of CC Technologies Systems, Inc. Previous to this, Kurt worked for Armco Steel Incorporated (AK Steel), performing a variety of projects and developing specific corrosion test procedures and application techniques. He has authored over 25 technical papers on corrosion and CP and has co-authored several PRCI Reports on corrosion research related to underground pipelines and indirect survey methods.
Kurt has also worked extensively on high profile litigation cases and has led various workshops and short courses. He attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and studied Metallurgical Engineering with an emphasis on Corrosion at Ohio State University. Kurt has also been an active member of NACE International, Southwestern Ohio Section, the American Society of Metals and the Steel Structure Painting Council.
