Mears Group, Inc., a leader in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), based on its commitment to continual improvement gained the internationally recognized ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Certification.
“After a thorough assessment of our processes, and by engaging every employee in this special project, the ISO 9001:2008 certification challenge allowed our company to step up to a much higher standard of quality and excellence that permeates not only the mentality of our entire team, but mostly the way we do things at Mears,” commented Neil Smith, senior vice president of HDD at Mears Group.
One of the key goals for Mears in attaining the ISO 9001:2008 quality certification is to exceed customer expectations by applying best practices in all aspects of its company - from business development to project management, from field operations to processing customer feedback data.
Mears retained ABS Quality Evaluations, Inc. as the accredited registrar to perform the external audits of the numerous processes performed at various locations of the company, that lead to the final award of certification in April 2011.
As Mears’ President Scot Fluharty pointed out, “this prestigious 9001:2008 quality standard certification sets Mears Group apart from the competition worldwide, and it challenges all of us to attain a higher level of excellence in the services we provide to our clients every day.”
